About The School

Long Sutton C of E (VA) Primary School is a four class rural primary school in South Somerset. We are a Church of England Primary School with our whole school community at the heart of everything we do. We have mixed age classes and pride oursleves on being a small school that serves our local community and fosters caring relationships across the school, with a strong family ethos. We pride ourselves on the warm welcome we give and the positive relationships we build with each family. We have a wide range of facilities including large school hall, beautiful grounds which include a swimming pool, a big school field, 2 playgrounds and a wild garden area. The school has very close links with the local community and, in particular, the village church. We have bi-weekly visits from local church members as well as the monthly church services. We also have many community members who volunteer in school with reading, crafts, welly walks amongst other things. Our school is fully accessible and inclusive for all children. There is a lift and ramps to enable wheelchair access to all areas. Our classes are:

Ash Class - Reception/Y1/Y2 - Mrs Manzi

Birch Class - Y2/Y3 - Mrs Pimm and Mrs Brading

Maple Class - Y4/Y5 - Mrs Pengelly and Mrs Fenton

Willow Class - Y5/Y6 - Mrs Astington and Mrs Janas

We are lucky to have Toybox Pre-school on our school site, this is an outstanding pre-school that works closely with the school to support the learning and development needs of young children in our community.

Admissions for Reception children are organised by County (click here for information on admission September 2017) and 'in year' admissions are dealt with by the school (click here) for information on this. Click here for application form). The school serves the catchments areas of Long Sutton, Long Load, Knole, Pibsbury, Upton and Muchelney.  The Governors happily consider out of zone admissions. Should you wish to visit the school, we would be delighted to show you around. Please contact the school office on 01458 241434.
